Hello, I have been trying to find another hacker type game for years now since I played Uplink: Hackers Elite and a game that for some reason did not get a lot of success called Street Hacker. The part of these games that I like the most is the ability to take side jobs to earn money. You could hack into computers to steal files, track down hackers that had hacked it before you, completely destroy the computer, or with street hacker, even upload a virus into the system to do different things. My question is this, Will I be able to do such things in any of your current games or previous games you have created? I don't want to be forced to follow a story if I just want to get on and hack into some computers and that from my understanding is why I have not bought your current hacking game because of the lack of freelance ability.

Hello,

There is a degree of freelance in our current games.

In our upcoming hacker game, there won't be any fixed story line to follow.
There will be a story and a final objective, but you will have complete freedom to choose your way of playing the game and completing it.

I'm all for freedom. In fact the only thing, if I could choose anything, that any of the hacker games lacked was just that, a bit more scope. Added replayability and open ended capacity always favors any game, regardless of type.

That being said, I loved uplink precisely because of that, the whole, tape a guys voice and then use a program to manipulate it into forming the precise words needed to access a vault or something was pretty bad ass.

Food for thought :P

I'm all for an open ended hacker game, in fact I was wondering why something like this has not been recreated after uplink... The game play is so addictive it just sucks you in for hours and I am sure like many other people out there that play this kinda game we actually wanted to become a hacker... who hasn't. Well this is the way for me to get this need out of my system without the worry of a life sentence. Thanks for the good news and I cant wait to put my hard earned cash down on this upcoming game.

@Krimson

I was planning to stop posting on the forums permanently, after the 1337'th :)
I never played (or intend to) Uplink. It's a great game, but I don't want to be tempted to copy it :)

The upcoming game will be 99% open ended.

Meh, I always thought the whole 1337 thing was overrated, Robert is already leet enough as it is! Keep up the great work! The whole open ended freelance hacker deal sounds great by the way.

Haha, AWESOME! I just posted that I would love to see an RPG made by exosyphen. This new hacker game sounds incredible! I hope you make more rpg games in the future, those are the best!
