Quick tip for others using macs with large screens:
Windowed screen resolution can be manually set in ~/Library/Application Support/Hacker Evolution Untold/preferences.txt
Change both ScreenWidth and ScreenHeight - I've set mine to 1600 and 1000 respectively on a MBP 17" with native 1920x1200 resolution, and it works great.
