I've having a problem with the tutorial. When I am to connect to secure.corp.net I run the secure_control_149.exploit and it says it was successful, however when I then try to connect to port 149 on secure.corp.net, I'm told that it's password protected and I have to decrypt. However, isn't that why I ran the exploit in the first place? I've used the tutorial command and followed the steps they give and this still won't work.

Any help?

Haven't played the game so don't know exactly more.
Perhaps the exploit worked on another port ?
Otherwise try doing the exploit again on the server normally everything should be possible :)

Hi,

There could also be an encryption on the server.
Run the decrypt command before trying to connect.

I've tried it several times with no difference. It really stinks to have a game and not be able to get out of the tutorial.

But I thought that was the point of running the exploit to crack the password. Anyway, I tried the decrypt command and I don't have sufficient time to get the decrypt done before the trace gets there and I get 100% trace. Even linking the one server that I can still link.

Hi,

There is a step by step tutorial included.
Start the tutorial level and type: tutorial
Try following those instructions to complete the level.

The tutorial can be completed without any issues. There is no bug in the game.

I used the tutorial command but I'll try it again. If it doesn't work, I'll try and include a screen shot.

Got it. Turns out there was a step that was left out in the tutorial. Once the exploit is run, you still have to decrypt the server port 149. Also, make sure people know that you need to take down bounced links as you finish using them because the first time through I think I ran out of bounces.

Thanks.

Good to hear this, and thanks for the notes :)
