This is mostly for STEAM users and not just.
You can download the existing HE and HE:U mods from here.

Just unzip the contents in the game folder for each game, and select the mods from the menu.

Hi Robert, just downloaded and unpacked the MOD files into HE:U directory on my Ubuntu 10.04.
Now, when clicking 'Select MOD' in the main menu HE.U crashes.
Doesn't the MOD files fit linux version?

Yes, I'm using version 1.02.

I found one more issue: My FPS were about 65 before adding mods, after migration of MODs FPS only reach 32. It seems like I'm only getting the half of the FPS when using MODs.

Maybe it's good to mention that my laptop (HP Compaq 8510p) uses ATI technolygi.

The FPS is pretty much irrelevant.
The nature of the game makes it playable even at 10 fps without loosing any features.

Installed mods for OSX, and I'm getting the same crash behavior as described when choosing "Select Mods" in Ubuntu.

my issue with FPS when using MODs gave me some trouble. First i didn't manage to get my FPS up again. By accident I found a solution :
I removed data.dat from HEU directory and launched HEU. Then HEU will not manage to start. Then I put back data.dat and launched HEU again. Now it starts again.
After this i got my full FPS back.

Installed HEU and MODs on another pc and got same isues as all ready mentioned. Same solution gave me FPS back again.

Why this help I dont know, but maybe you can use this info by troubleshooting!
