Hello everyone,

Been looking at the game engine and at the 3D backdrops.
I could bring those to life and make the maps into 3D environments through which you can navigate.

What do you think?

But not sure if my pc can handle it ...
But still interested...
If you would implement it, just make sure we can choose in the options if we want 3D enabled...

(or isn't it the 3D I'm thinking of...)

Think it really depends on alot of stuff, first of all I am not sure what you mean by making the maps 3D, would it be that the globe would be on the screen and you need to search for server locations like zooming in and out and moving the globe left / right and up / down, or will it be like in the previous Hacker games where you will get into buildings and buildings there will actually have floors and depth too, I think that ain't gonna happen, because it doesn't fit in the story line of HE games to hack a server on site, like in Deus Ex: HR.

I currently still have problems to win the game itself, meaning I got the tutorial mission solved, but the second mission first real mission I always get zero integrity, even tried to wait with hacking zero and one.exosyhpen.com but even then one.exosyphen.com starts hacking me in time, even when I never touched it.
Anyway, I will eventually get this level done, but am affraid having to do this in 3D, even when it's just the background map, it might get even more difficult.
Am curious to see what you are thinking about though, so maybe there might be a setting you can choose, like HE:Duality classic or 3D, if that is the case I will definately say go for it

The 3D part would be a wireframe representation of buildings/etc.
Don't worry about hardware requirements. It would run at the same speed the game runs now.

Just go for it, I would say, still need to figure out a way to hack the first level, but I guess the gameplay wouldn't be any harder with this adjustment.

If this game can be fully 3d , that will be awesome.

Think then the whole idea behind the game will be gone, the whole game in 3D, you would have to walk to terminals or something inside a building and hack them to get access to other terminals?

Think the point in this game is that you hack from a location somewhere in the world and by moving from server to server, you will get to where you wanted to go.

Think if you want to have a game that does this, you may want to look at Deus Ex Human Revolution, which in term you can choose there, to reach your end point in stealth mode, which involves alot of hacking or in rambo mode.

Really don't see why this whole game should go in 3D, but maybe one of you can tell how you would look at this in full 3D and I may change my mind.

To clear things up:

I am NOT planning a 3D first person shooter style approach.

Something like:
- The world map would be spinable and you can zoom/in out.
- You view a building as a wireframe and are able to rotate it, and move around it, to lock onto your targets.

As @x3style said ... I will get a small tech demo together, to demonstrate the concept.

Give us a demo we could play with since I could see it being a really cool idea (and giving us a FAR larger map to play with) and yet I can see it possibly being too complicated to easily handle as a player.
