My CPU is just the standard 2, I haven't done anything at all. It is just different from the video of the tutorial.

In this screenshot I have done nothing but running a firewall on the server. Hope you know what it can be. Furthermore I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.8 on 2.16 Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro.

After you LOCK (click) on a server, start the Firewall tool *immediately*. If you wait, the trace will start 20 seconds after you locked on a server and not after you start the firewall tool.

I actually did immediately start the firewall after locking on the server. I have played the game on Windows as well (other computer though), but then everything is fine. SO I'm pretty sure it is not me. But can it be something in the hardware, I also noticed that the appearance of the words/letters introducing the game are much slower than in the game I played on Windows.

Oh!
I just looked at your screenshot and your game runs at 2 frames per second.
That means hardware acceleration doesn't work properly.
Make sure your video card has proper OpenGL drivers.
